Warzone is reportedly bringing back a feature that makes it easier to see what items come from an enemy or a loot box.
Raven Software has tinkered with several different looting mechanics to perfect the system. In 2022, Warzone 2 introduced a backpack system that forced players to enter a separate screen to loot everything besides weapons.
Fans slammed the feature because it was too easy for enemies to sneak up on them while they were looking at the backpack screen and trying to scroll through each item. In 2023, the devs didn’t remove backpacks entirely but had loot drop to the floor and float over the ground, making it easier to parse through.
Article continues after adBlack Ops 6 went one step further and scrapped backpacks entirely. Instead, there are simple inventory spaces that can be easily organized. While loot is no longer floating around, it’s directly on the ground, which can sometimes make it difficult to see everything.

TheGhostofHope reported that floating loot may return to Warzone with Verdansk. Dexerto and CharlieIntel can independently confirm this rumor.

Floating loot is spread out and elevated, making it easier for players to pick what they want to take without wasting too much time.

Call of Duty content creator TDAWG responded, “Oh, they’re going all out with this update for sure.”
“I can’t believe it, they might finally be listening to us,” a second user added.
Leaks revealed that Verdansk is returning in Season 3, which is scheduled to start on March 20, based on the Battle Pass timer.
